Free Camping/Warm-Up Ride

CAMPERS/HOTEL GUESTS:

We are excited to announce a bonus Warm-Up Ride on Saturday July 23rd. This ride will be FREE of charge for registered riders and will feature two routes:
12 Mile —Up the Rail Trail to Millerton .
25-35 Mile: The route does not overlap any of Sunday’s routes. 

The Logistics: 

On July 29th, we’ll provide a shuttle for registered riders from the Wassaic Train Station to Millerton. If you’re staying at a local hotel, we’ll transport your bags, so that they’ll be there when you arrive. If you’re taking advantage of our Free Camping, we can bring your bags directly to the event space in Millerton. Exact times for Saturday’s Warm-Up Ride will be announced once the Metro North’s Summer Train schedule is finalized. 


The Harlem Valley Rail Ride invites you to pitch your tent at Eddie Collins Field in Millerton, NY. on Sat. July 23. Drive, petal or ride the train up to Millerton, 'one of America's top 10 coolest small towns' (Budget Travel Magazine). Once there you can ride your bike in the country. Check out the Saturday Farmer's Market with fresh fruit and vegetables. Explore Harney Tea's and Gilmore Glass Blowing Studio.Take in a movie at The Movie House! Where would I eat? Breakfast: try the Oakhurst Diner or Irving Farms. Lunch: how about Chinese at the Golden Wok? Or Taro's Pizza, Four Brothers Pizza and Irving Farms. Dinner:  And don't forget Manna Dew Café. All of these locations are within a very short walk from the camp ground. Wake up Sunday with a Harlem Valley Rail Ride breakfast that will give you the fuel you will need to ride.
